There are scenic walks directly from the site, whether you're after a gentle riverside stroll into the village or something more adventurous, like a full-day walk as far as Bradgate Park. Our local village is a beautiful and very desirable location in Leicestershire. You can enjoy traditional pubs, local shops, and great places to eat. For a riverside pint, try The Navigation Inn or The Moorings. After something cosy and relaxed? The Hunting Lodge and Three Crowns are favourites too.

Just a short drive or longer walk away, Bradgate Park is a must-visit. Roaming deer, rugged hills, and the striking Old John Tower make it one of Leicestershire’s best-loved parks. Great for walking, cycling, or simply taking in the views.
Perfect for a relaxed afternoon out, this beautifully restored heritage steam railway takes you on a short journey through the picturesque Leicestershire countryside, along the historic granite quarry line. Run by passionate volunteers, it’s a lovely way to slow things down and enjoy a nostalgic experience. You’ll also find a heritage centre, tea rooms, and scenic walks nearby, making it well worth a visit during your stay.
If you're after something a bit more adventurous, head to Beacon Hill, one of the county’s highest points. You'll find woodland trails, panoramic views, and even Bronze Age remains. The nearby Outwoods offers ancient woodland walks that are a hit all year round.
