Right here on-site at High Meadow Farm, Millie’s Farm Shop is a local gem! You’ll find fantastic local produce, fresh baked goods, and artisan treats, perfect for stocking up or enjoying a picnic. There's also plenty of outdoor seating, and it’s earned great reviews from visitors and locals alike.

Local Walks from the Site

Step straight from your pitch into the heart of the Leicestershire countryside. There are scenic walks directly from the site, whether you're after a gentle riverside stroll into the village or something more adventurous, like a full-day walk as far as Bradgate Park. Just ask us for a route recommendation!

Barrow upon Soar Village

Our local village is a beautiful and very desirable location in Leicestershire. You can enjoy traditional pubs, local shops, and great places to eat. For a riverside pint, try The Navigation Inn or The Moorings. After something cosy and relaxed? The Hunting Lodge and Three Crowns are favourites too.

Millennium Park, Barrow upon Soar

This lovely local green space is ideal for easy walks, picnics, and wildlife watching, right in the village. It links up with longer riverside routes and offers a peaceful place to stretch your legs just a few minutes away.

Bradgate Park & Old John Tower

Just a short drive or longer walk away, Bradgate Park is a must-visit. Roaming deer, rugged hills, and the striking Old John Tower make it one of Leicestershire’s best-loved parks. Great for walking, cycling, or simply taking in the views.

Mountsorrel Heritage Railway

Perfect for a relaxed afternoon out, this beautifully restored heritage steam railway takes you on a short journey through the picturesque Leicestershire countryside, along the historic granite quarry line. Run by passionate volunteers, it’s a lovely way to slow things down and enjoy a nostalgic experience. You’ll also find a heritage centre, tea rooms, and scenic walks nearby, making it well worth a visit during your stay.

Beacon Hill Country Park & The Outwoods

If you're after something a bit more adventurous, head to Beacon Hill, one of the county’s highest points. You'll find woodland trails, panoramic views, and even Bronze Age remains. The nearby Outwoods offers ancient woodland walks that are a hit all year round.

Watermead Country Park

A peaceful, expansive country park made up of lakes, meadows, and woodland trails. It’s perfect for a day spent walking, birdwatching, or simply enjoying the fresh air. You’ll find quiet fishing spots, scenic picnic areas, and a few surprising sculptures dotted around the landscape, including the well-known mammoth statue. Just a 30-minute drive away, the National Space Centre is a brilliant day out. With its iconic Rocket Tower, immersive planetarium shows, and hands-on exhibits, it's perfect for science lovers, or a rainy-day adventure
